RELYANT provided training for select National Police Force (NPF) personnel in Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD), First Aid and Training of Trainers (ToT) for both disciplines. NPF are engaged in clearance and safety operations against Boko Haram forces in the Lake Chad Basin region. NPF IEDD personnel will be taught IED render safe procedures without using explosives or energetics of any kind (rarely done throughout the world) due to their lack of explosives for IEDD operations. RELYANT will train up to 12 NPF IEDD personnel as IEDD trainers, then mentor them through at least one iteration of either an IEDD Basic or IEDD Refresher course. RELYANT will also be training 12 different NPF personnel as First Aid trainers, then mentoring them through at least five First Aid course iterations.
