Under the Rapid Disaster Infrastructure Response Program, RELYANT completed the $3.6M Cost-Plus Fixed Fee project for repairs to the Little Goose Creek and Big Goose Creek Levee System. Damages were caused by a May-June 2019 high water event in Sheridan, WY, during which time excessive rainfall of more than 300% of normal precipitation met with a delayed spring snow melt to cause flooding along Goose Creek and its tributaries, Little Goose Creek and Big Goose Creek. Flooding surpassed the National Weather Service major flood stage, causing damage to the levee systems, primarily erosion to the levee and channel slopes and the deposition of the eroded soil and riprap in the channel. RELYANT repaired 18 sites along the levee system including repairing ramps, and appurtenant structures; reconstruction of levee crest; levee re-grade; installation of geotextile, bedding and riprap placement; underwater fill placement; and sediment and debris removal form levee slopes, crest, and berms.
